  Georgia judge rules that Fani Willis can remain on Trump case if Wade steps aside If her top special prosecutor, Nathan Wade, steps down, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis can continue to lead the Georgia election meddling case. The ruling increases the likelihood that 15 defendants—among them the former president Donald Trump—will go on trial in Georgia for their efforts to void the results of the 2020 election. Fulton Superior Judge Scott McAfee said last month in a 23-page order that came after hours of dramatic testimony in court that Willis' intimate involvement with Wade, the top special prosecutor she appointed, appeared to constitute a conflict of interest but did not necessitate her disqualification. According to McAfee, "it is reasonable for an outsider to assume that the District Attorney is not fully free from any compromising influences while exercising her independent professional judgment."  McAfee offered prosecutors an option: Willis must step...
